    Ceiling hook w/toggle bolt
    Hi, I am in need of instruction to install a ceiling hook with a toggle bolt. HELP! :eek:

    Drill appropriate size hole and push the bolt through and tighten

    Esquire is correct but you will need to push the toggle in far enough for the spring wings to open, then pull down so they touch the ceiling and then tighten. If your ceiling is drywall be careful how much weight you hang on this hook.

    You may need to add a big washer before the hook,if the hook base is not wide enough, base of hook or washer should be at least 1/8R bigger than the hole

    if you have access to the attic above the ceiling you should add a 2x4 so you'll have something solid to screw or nail to. If not a toggle bolt will work, depending on which size you get you'll need to drill a starter hole and then push the toggle up and through the hole once you start tighting it up it will snug up against the sheetrock
