The need to urinate but only a tiny bit comes out. Burning and stinging is another symptom. A slight fever and discomfort below the naval are other clues.

The most common symptom is as the other poster said, the need to urinate, but not being able to release fully. Also burning and pain. It is important if you suspect you have one, to get to a doctor for treatment as you don't want it to spread to a kidney infection.

If it gets to your kidneys, you'll feel horrible back pain for starters... believe me, you don't want it to get that far!

Drink lots of clear fluids (water & cranberry juice are musts) and urinate as often as you feel the need to, even if only a drip comes out.

It depends on the severity of the infection. A simple round of antibiotics will have the bladder infection under control though. It really isn't much different than a UTI. And then you wouldn't need to worry. Most places (ie: walmart) even offer free or $5 antibiotics now

UTIs are upper and lower. An upper UTI (urinary tract infecion) is a kidney infection. A lower UTI is a bladder infection.

Both need a culture by your doctor to see what the particular bacteria is that is causing this.

Yes, antibiotics are necessary, but you cannot get antibiotics without a doctor's prescription.
