Do you think it will work?
The thing is when we get a new dog mine he stops eating altogether won't play won't look at my mom or I or anything and I really just want to get my old dog back too
We took my dog to the vet who said if we don't get rid of the puppy my dog would end up dying but I was just thinkg that we always got puppier so if maybe I get my dog back who is 5 by now he might not have as many problems
Because the puppy alaways gets more attention because of house training and everything and plus the puppy always wants to play and is always charging at my dog so do you think a dog that's older than him might work out better?

Start by reading through the sticky starting at https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/i...tml#post254171 Is you dog reaching the point of seriously being under weight?

It also needs to understand you are in charge, and have the right to introduce new pack members. The key to most behavior problems is approaching things using the dog's natural instincts. Dogs see all the people and dogs in the household as a pack with each having their own rank in the pack and a top dog. Life is much easier if the 2 legged pack members outrank the 4 legged ones. You can learn to play the role of top dog by reading some books or going to a good obedience class. A good obedience class or book is about you being top dog, not about rewarding standard commands with a treat. Start at Raising Your Dog with the Monks of New Skete For more on being top dog, see Establishing and Keeping Alpha Position, Letting your dog know you are the boss

If he doesn't want to play with the new puppy, stop it before it gets to him. As soon as it starts toward him, give it a sharp ''Ah, ah, ah!'' and offer it a chew toy.

It didn't actually go to this page. Just showed the url...
