To Test The Coil, You Can Remove Both Spark Plugs, (this Will Allow The Engine To Spin Easily), Then Place The Spark Plug Back In The Spark Plug Wire "boot", And Place The Hexagonal Shape Of The Plug Against The Engine To Ground The Spark Plug And Turn The Key To The Start Position, If The Coil Is Working, You Will See A Spark At The Electrode Tip Of The Plug. Do This On Both Cylinders. If You Have No Spark, Remove The Engines Blower Housing (top) And You Will See A Black Wire With A Female Spade Terminal On The End Encased In A Plastic Shell. Remove This Wire From The Coil And Retest. If You Have Fire To The Plugs After Removing The Kill Wire, You Have A Kill Wire Short. Trace Wire To Find Defect And Repair Or Replace As Needed. If You Still Have No Fire, Try It Once More With A New Spark Plug Then If You Have No Fire, You Have A Bad Coil.

Tesla Coil [ 3 Answers ]

Does anyone have good plans for a vacuum tube tesla coil? I built the spark gap variety years ago and would now like to explore a vacuum tube version. I'm looking for something fairly small and manageable - not those massive designs with a gazillion volt potential . Thanks...
