Converting to Honeywell RTH6300B - wiring questions
    Greetings all!

    I hope someone can help...
I have a Ruud heat pump/handler w/ a Protech thermostat. As I am trying to replace the thermostat with a Honeywell RTH6300B, I need some guidance on the wiring.
Coming out of the wall I have...

    Red - R
    Orange - B
    Yellow - Y1
    Black - E
    White - W2
    Green - G
    Brown - C

Question is, how do I match it to the R, G, Y, R, Rc of the new thermostat? Do I have the wrong thermostat?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

You have the wrong thermostat, you need a heat pump capable thermostat and it needs to be two stage heat .Mike
