    Home wiring - receptacles
What happens when you discover the wire grouping both have the white wire AND black wire coming into a receptable hot and the other wire grouping coming into the receptacle has a white and black wire that is not hot? EDIT QUESTION! - My problem here is the wiring coming into the receptacle box has a white wire AND black wire that is hot, then a ground. The other wire coming into the box has a white wire AND black wire that is NOT hot, then a ground. Why is this the case?

Not sure I understand. If you have a black and white that have power, and black and white
On same receptacle, and no power. Tab connecting top and bottom half has been removed
    Or burnt off.
