    Inducing labor
I have read that raspberry leaf tea induces labor, has anyone tried it? I'm due on Tuesday the 31st, and every little movement he makes feels like my tummy skin is going to explode. I would try walking a bunch, but he is sitting so low that after a few steps, my "lower area" gets really sore.

Please do not do anything that your doctor does not recommend. Babies come on their own time. You will go into labor when your body is ready and not before unless your doctor intervenes.

Unless your doctor suggests you do something(as j9 said) I wouldn't try anything. Trying to induce labor on your own can be dangerous for you and baby. Some forms of self induction can start the contractions fast and hard, and neither of you are ready for them. Typically labor won't start until baby is ready to come, and situations are right for it to happen. If this is your first baby, chances are, you will be late. Its pretty rare for a first baby to be early and even more rare for a baby to come on its due date. I know that these last few weeks are very uncomfortable and you are just bursting at the seams to get things started and get that baby into your arms. BUT it really is best to leave the jump start of labor to your baby, or your physician. Walking is good, simply for exercise and giving yourself something to occupy your mind, it is also good for keeping muscles loose and toned. However, stop before it becomes too uncomfortable or strained. Besides, if you did too much, you might kick start labor, but be so exhausted that the real work of labor will be a real ordeal(my mom walked the halls while pregnant with me, her last of 5 children. My due date was on the 12th, my brothers birthday. He was upset and didn't want some one else to have his birthday, and so she walked the halls determined to start labor early. It worked, I was born 6 days early, but she was completely exhausted by the time real labor started, and labor was ten times harder then it should have been)Just take it in stride. You've dealt with 9 months of discomfort, and it will come to an end soon, with you holding baby in your arms. At that point all those months of annoyance and discomfort will seem a distant memory, and the wait well worth it. You may even find yourself wishing you had had more time to prepare;0)

Like they said talk to your doctor. But for the record I tried all the tea's and even castor oil nothing worked until the baby was ready to come and I had drank all that nasy stuff for nothing. Good luck!
