Okay this is it... I'm an 18 year old female and I think that I'm pregnant. :confused: well I had unprotected sex with the first and only boy that I have been sexually active with. Now I have taken a home test and it keeps coming out negative. I have gained 9 lbs in the last 8 weeks, I have had an appetite from out of nowhere, I've been constipated, aggrivated, and every smell bother me, I eat all day everyday which is very rare for me. I have developed a little pouch and a lot of people walk up to me and ask me how far along I am. I sleep more and I sleep harder I eat food I never liked, I had a period last month but it went from the regular 5 day cycle to a short spotty 2 days. I had some blood towards the end of those two days that looked kind of mucusy and broken up. Could I be pregnant?

Well since you did engage in unprotected sex then, yes, pregnancy is a possibility. The hcg levels may not have been high enough to be detected by a HPT when you took it. In order to confirm or rule out pregnancy you should have your doctor or obgyn perform a blood pregnancy test ASAP. However, the symptoms you are experiencing can be caused from other circumstances as well. Until you know for sure, treat yourself as if you are pregnant, just in case. Good luck.

It is possible as rank said, any sex protected or not can result in pregnancy. IF you are thinking that you are about 8 weeks along, then the symptoms you are mentioning are about right, with the exception of the weight gain... most women don't start gaining that much weight or start showing this early, esp. not first time moms... but it can happen I suppose. I would suggest going to your doctor and requesting a quantitative blood test to see if there is any HCg in your system. If that comes out negative. Ask why the periods have not come. They will try and see what the problem is. Good luck.
