Maybe get ice cream with other kids and parental supervision, or go to the movies, etc.
Kisses on the cheek at MOST.

Sounds pretty innocent... I can't see why there would be a problem with it personally.

My mom went nuts when I started getting interested in boys.. lol.
Take it as a learning experience for your child. Like Haplo said, it sounds innocent, and if there is going to be adult supervision I wouldn't be worried. Just be glad she is starting innocent, and not starting buckwild like some girls do :)

I would suggest against it you both are so young and have so long to mature and be in relationships why rush into one now? I would wait. I know that I could have suffered a lot less heart ache when I was young if I had just waited a little bit longer.

Usually the idea of dating to a 13 year old is just hanging out. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

Even if you are just "Hanging Out" down the line you will be upset when the guy (usually the guy) will break it off. It's not all the yelling and screaming and cussing of when you break up in your later years BUT it is a breakup none the less and it still hurts.

People have to learn the affects of a breakup eventually. I learned in my early years about breakups, and when I got older I was hardened to them. They didn't bother me so much.

I would say it depends on the child... Like I have too nieces and you can tell the one who is more prone to jump into sex than the other, go with your gut

If my father has taught me anything, it has been to not lock up your children from relationships and other things that happen in life. My dad was very over protective and it hasn't done any good towards me. Don't let her go out of hand but don't keep her locked up, give her some freedom but not too much. I'd say what's fair for an 11 year old is to let them go to the movies, and stuff like that but don't just expect a kiss on the cheek, 13 might sound young but nowadays it really isn't. When I was 13 my boyfriend at the time tried to get me to give oral, it's just an example and not every guy is like that at that age.. but there's a lot out there and kids grow up too fast.

Yeah if you lock them up they will push twice as hard but also remember they may say that girls mature faster than boys but sexually boys are way faster! My boyfriend lost his virginity when he was 8 and his brother at 13 and yes I have to say I was young also.

If they are only hanging out, it's not like they have a strong emotionaly attachment at this point. They are only children right now. You have just as much of a chance of getting hurt by your friend not hanging out with you any more. At such a young age, I really think she only wants to hang out with him and have fun, not actually date. It sounds like youre(Victoria') saying that they shouldn't be friends at all because he may decide to leave some day. As She gets older, she'll find more boys attractive, and He'll move on too. That doesn't mean she can't hang out with, or be friends with, boys right now.

I agree. =] Go hang out and have a fun time, you only live one life, it's not like you're asking if you two can carry on Heavy petting or something, sheesh people.

Really it's more like *actually* talking to and hanging around a girl when you're that age. I really don't think anything serious is going to happen... usually just a hug... and when it gets farther in they might kiss on the cheek... but it'll mostly just hangin' out and talking to one specific girl a lot... make both of you feel special
