Haven't slept in 2 days.thanks to mr. multimedia audio controller.
I'm pretty tired and I need my audio BAAAAAD! I've visited many forums, tweaked a lotta stuff and resorted to what caused this problem... reformating with xp pro. I installed all the drivers specified on the Gateway website, (because I have a gateway 7422gx) and I've run out of ideas. The website has told me that the motherboard is of gateway manufacture. No idea what to do, any help would be much appreciated! Thanks again! :)

First do a check, right-click on my computer > select hardware tab > select device manager > check whether over the sound, video... is a yellow question mark.

If there is a yellow question, then download drivers here

I guess you should check your CD's that came with your PC and try installing all the drivers for your motherboard
