    Stray Pregnant
I live in a nice neighborhood, and there's always cats around. But in the last two months, I have seen a pregnant stray cat. She's real pretty, and only up until about this week, had I successfully started to feed her. Now, I don't know if she's still pregnant because she is long haired, and I have never gotten close to her. She sees me when I watch her eating, but other then that, I never see her. I think she might be extremely hungry because there's another stray living underneath our shed, and she might be hunting all the good and slow prey that the pregnant girl could catch. I have a cat and year old kitten in my house, and we are moving. I doubt my mother would let us take her, but I used to volunteer at the humane society, and I'm just really worried she might be in need of help. We can't really spare any money for a vet visit, let alone a litter and mother. But I just really wish I could at least coax her into letting me come a little closer to her, just to see if she's hurt or not. I'm a really big animal lover, and I hate to see strays without at least a place to sleep or cuddle up in. I'd love to give her an old pillow or something, but I honestly think my mum would kill me. Hahah. I just don't know if I can get her to warm up to me. Do any of you have any kind of advice? I don't know where she's staying, I think maybe in my woods, but I dare not invade her territory if she has already had the kittens. I just worry. Help? :(

Hekate Please call a cat rescue in your area and explain the situation to them. If you call a vets office they may tell you of cat rescue one they know, also the pet stores may have a list of them. At the very least feed her kitten food until you move. A pregnant or nursing cat needs the kitten chow. I don't think I would try to trap her just in case her kittens are in the woods. If your humane shelter is no kill maybe you could call them. It is a damn shame, that some people are not responsible with cats and the poor things have to suffer and depend on a good Samaritan , such as yourselfto help them out.
