    3" ABS toilet drain problems
I have a 3" abs plastic pipe in my basement concrete floor, that is just below level with the floor. It is recessed about 3/8 to 1/2 inch below the floors surface. I need to put a toilet back in there and I was considering the use of the Sioux Chief closet flange that fits inside 3" pipe, however I was worried about restriction and clogging. Can anyone else provide any other ideas?

    Thank you

I have known many plumbers who have usd this flange with success however I thin you should use a flange that goes over 3 inch pipe

Yep, the flange goes over not in the 3". You should have no clogging issue. Where is the vent stack for this new toilet?

Well, since the top edge of the 3” ABS is just one half inch below the floor surface, could I just put down a closet flange ring, screwed into the concrete, and then use a wax ring with a longer horn? Other wise, this closet flange is the only one I think I can use. It is linked below. As for the vent stack, it is about 18" away.

    Thanks

Am tackling putting in a bathroom in the basement. Walls are already up, but I noticed now that the center of the drain for the toilet is around 14" from the studs (drywall yet to go on). Is a seemingly simple installation now going to be a more major undertaking? I'm relatively new at this and...

Connecting 1 1/2" ABS to 1 1/4" pipe [ 4 Answers ]

Can I trust a flexible fitting to connect 1 1/2" ABS to existing 1 1/4" pipe, which is sold in the retail outlets for a closed wall bathroom drain? Do these flexible connectors with torque down clamps provide durable connections that will last without leaks?

Copper tubing off my ABS drain in basement [ 1 Answers ]

Afternoon, I am putting a shower in the basement and have already identified my drain and vent. Here is the question-- on my drain pipe, which is ABS, I have a copper line with a fitting on it tied to the coupling on my drain. It appears to be heading over toward my vent line. I have looked...

ABS Fiberglass Shower Drain Installation [ 1 Answers ]

Hi, I've read some great posts on the forums but still can't fully answer my hopefully simple question. I'm installing a fiberglass shower in my basement and picked up an ABS screw-in drain for it to connect to my abs drain pipe. The drain came with a rubber gasket, I'm wondering which side of...

3" PVC toilet drain size performance? [ 2 Answers ]

How appropriate and adequate is 3" PVC drain for a toilet? It would solve the current issue I have with a ridge from trying to mate 4" PVC to cast iron. I could slip the 3" pvc right into the main stack and avoid the butting of PVC and cast iron. I do see that most PVC toilet goods come in both...
