    Taking name off property
    My husband and I have a townhouse together. How do I take my name off the property?

    Depending on where you are:

    You can file a Notarized Quit Claim Deed which states that you no longer have any interest in the property. That DOES NOT take you off the loan. The only way to get off the mortgage is to get the other party to refinance or somehow pay off the loan. Of course selling the property gets both parties off the Title.
