I'm getting my belly pierced nexxt week and I been asking people how long it takes for it to heal so you can take out the belly ring that they pierce it with and some people are telling me to wait 4-6 months and some are telling me a month or 6 weeks... I hope that its 6 weeks because I don't want to wait all that many months but I don't want it to get infected either

Go to http://compunction.org/healing2.txt and read it before and after your piercing.

It is 4 months to 1 year! When you go in to get it done they tell you that you can't swim in any thing for 6 months! Well at least that's what they said when I went with a friend to get hers done! If you change it to quick then you will need it re pierced! Good Luck and enjoy!

6 weeks! That's what they told me! I changed mine out in like 4.. just keep an eye on it and if it looks good then change it!
BUT DO NOT go swimming in a lake or pool. But the ocean is good for piercing, the salt water helps it heal!
