    A/C Fan Stopped
My A/C fan stopped. Only warm air is blowing through vents. After reading several posts, I am unsure of what to replace. How can I determine weather I need to replace the condenser fan run capacitor and the contactor or the condenser fan motor. Thanks

Spin the fan and if it continues to run the cap is bad. Is the contactor pulling in on call for cool? If not the coil in it may be bad. You can push in on contactor and if fan comes on the fan is good. You can test the coil on the contactor if you have meter. If you need help testing it post back

If your fan motor is bad I would suggest replacing the fan run capacitor, this cheap insurance and the new motor may require q different size capcitor.

I know where the condenser fan motor is located at. However, I have no idea where the condenser fan run capacitor and the contactor are.

The cap will be silver and oval or round. It will have 2 or 3 post on it and will have wires going to the motor on the 2 post and fan an compressor on the3 post . The contactor will be inside the condensing unit where all the wiring and controls are. It will have a set of contacts in it. I yoou are unfamiliar you best call in a tech ash you are working around electricity and can get hurt.
