I'm not really sure if anyone could answer this but, I have had a horrible last 2 months on my menstral cycle. I've a had one week of spotting followed by 2 weeks of an abnormal heavy period. I saw a doctor at my local urgent care today and he told me that the symptoms I have been having could be related to a miscarriage but he never answered my question, if you took a pregnancy test and had a miscarriage would it say negative or positive?

It all depends on the person. I've seen it still say positive in the EARLY stage of a miscarriage, but for the most part, in my experience and what I've seen, it would probably say negative :)

It depends on how far along you were before you had the miscarriage and how fast the hcg levels in your body diminished. So it could read positive or negative, it just depends. If it reads negative then that means the hcg levels are extremely low or have already depleted to 0-5. If the test reads positive then that means there is still left over hcg levels in you system that are being picked up by the HPT.
