    Termination of fathers rights
    I'm wondering how I can go about having the father of my 9 yr. old daughter voluntarily give up his parental rights. He has never had any contact with her and is currently in jail for not paying child support, he is about $15,000 behind. Is there a way for my husband of two years to adopt her? He is the father she never had and really wants this to happen. Do we need to have a lawyer to do a voluntary termination or can we do that ourselves and where would I go to do this?

    Since of course if he gives up his rights so you can adopt that stops his child support, so he should be happy to sign as fast as he can.
