    Replacing bath/shower with shower unit
    Hiya could someone give me a guide to replacing a bath tub with overhead shower to just a shower unit. Please..

    Shut off main. Cut out the manifold in the wall and replace it with a diverterless manifold. Are you keeping the tub, or are you looking to replacing it with an stand-up shower enclosure?

    I think the biggest possible 'gotcha' will be the size of the existing drain, assuming you want to use it. Bathubs are only required to have a 1.5" drain, whereas a shower need a 2" drain. If the existing pipe is only 1.5", you'll probably have to upgrade it.

    I would like to replace the tub totally with a walk in shower. Ps: thank you for responding so quickly.
