Regarding a lump I found in my breast
Hello Ladies
My concern is regarding a lump I found in my breast about a month and a half ago.I found something suspicious and I got worried of corse and so I raised over to the Dr to get it checked.. and it was a bit sore but mostly I think from my poking at it as that's when it seem to get more sore.
Anyway she examinded me and said that everything looks fine and asked where is the lump so I found it and showed her where it was.And she felt it and she said this is most likley milk that is still there or a calcium deposit.. and it being milk sounds not right because I had my last child 15 yrs ago and I never breast fed.But that's what she said it most likely is for one because when you touch the lump it moves.. and it does move.. but she said just to be safe we will get you an ultra sound so she set me up for an ultrasound.. I went and had it done.. got to see the inside of my boob.. that was pretty cool anyway the ultra sound techs said they couldn't see anything at all and they asked the same queastion.. where is the lump and showed them and they did the ultra sound in that are pretty thoroughly and could not find anything what so ever and that it is probably calcium deposit.
Now I want to trust that answer and for the most part I do.. but I find still now that my breast can be a little sore in that area where the calcium or what ever it is.. is suppose to be.. it tends to be tender and sore around there.. and I admit I poke around there regularly.. now is that what's causing the soreness or is it the calcium.. should I be satisfied with the answers I got from the ultra sound or should be pushing for this to be looked at more ?
And I also read that calcium deposits are the first signs of cancer so this has me a little scared and wondering what I should do from here.
Any advice would be great thank you.

If you are unsure and worried then you should seek a second opinion from another doctor. Yearly mammogram checks are a godsend as far as I am concerned and I never miss one but I do have a good doctor looking out for my best interest.
I do suggest you stop poking around.

Krimson I had a lump removed from my breast a few years ago. Mine was just a cyst. I have had them off and since I was about 17 and they are sore sometimes. But if I were you I would do as tickle suggested and get a second opinion. To the doctor it may not be a big deal, but to you it is. Stand firm with what you expect and if they do not agree with you find another dr. Never be intimidated by a degree.

As a breast cancer survivor myself, I would recommend a mammogram as well as a fine needle biopsy. I don't mean to frighten you, but my story was similar to yours.
You definitely need a second opinion. I went through 7 doctors before I finally found one who would listen to me.
Be proactive in your health. Find a doctor who will listen to your concerns. You had your last child 15 years ago, it is most certainly not milk. If it is then something is wrong. Maybe your lump is in a milk duct or milk gland as mine was. Many people tell you breast cancer and the lumps don't hurt. I am here to tell you that is a myth, mine was quite painful.
I would definitely get this checked out and biopsied, if only for your peace of mind.

j9 that is what they did to mine, the needle. But could not extract any fluid. So they removed the lump to check it. I too think this doctor is just not concerned enough. I am sure at this point she has a M.D. and not a specialist. Maybe if a breast specialist told me that I would not tend to worry as much and just keep an eye out for its size.

Thanks a lot for the feed back it helps a lot.Yes I agree my gut keeps telling me to get this double checked.. even if its all for nothing.. I would rather be extra safe and sure of the answers I am getting from the Dr.. when I went the first time it was at a walk in clinic and she did a good job but is rushed and I was surprised that she didn't want to have me get a mammogram.. she scheduled an ultrasound.. I wish she would have had me get both done.
Yea the lump is weird because the when I get examined I have to show them where it is they never seem to find it other wise... and when you massage this lump or poke at it the lumb moves almost disappears.. not literally but it feels like it.
Would me poking around be causing the area to be sore too.. or cause me to be sore for a few days afterwards ?
I am 35 yrs old.

Well, poking at it surely pisses it off, LOL. I am sure that is one of the causes of the soreness.
I too wish you had both done. They are both good in their own ways.
You see, it was my gut that kept me pushing on. I hope you do not get the same answer as I did, but we must listen to ourselves.
The doctor who did finally diagnose me said "Us doctors have to listen to our patients more, you know your body better than we do." I will never forget him. He was wonderful!!
