    Warrant for theft under $5000?
A friend was arrested in Alberta, Canada for theft under $5000... was only like a 40 dollar theft from a department store.. He was offered alternative measures. He had to move back home to another province in Canada. He is all nervous about having a warrant for his arrest... Is that charge with theft a canada wide warrant or just provincial? Any info is good info!

Would this result in returning to Alberta or just serving in the other province?

Most likely they will return you to Alberta.

It is much cheaper for them to transport you to Alberta than to transport all their witnesses to Ontario.

If you plan to plead guilty right off the bat though, then I am sure they won't mind you doing that in Ontario.

Advice: Go see a lawyer and have him/her arrange your surrender over to the police….oh, I'm sorry, have your friend go see the lawyer.
