    Vent distance
    Hi,

I am moving my kitchen sink; my question is what is the maximum distance allowed between my new 1 1/2 " drain and the vent stack.

If you wish to stay in code the distance is 3 1/2 feet. However I strongly suggest that you increase the drain size to 2 inch, especially if you're planing on adding a disposal unit. With a 2 inch drain you can go up to 5 feet. Good luck, Tom
