    Honda a/c 2001 civic lx
a/c worked great. Suddenly stopped blowing cold air. What gives? Do I need to re-charge the a/c? I don't want to pay a lot of $$$ to deal with this problem. I would rather fix it myself.

. Check all under-dash and under-hood fuses with a test light or multimeter. Here's how:

. Verify that the compressor runs.
. Check the sight glass, to determine if it's a freon problem.

If the sight glass shows no refrigerant, you likely have a leak or the compressor is bad. Adding freon, then, would not solve the problem. My advice is to take it to Honda, if the sight glass indicates a problem. Don't trust it to anyone else.

Normally, it's on the driver's side--next to the power steering fluid reservoir. Look for the small, round, glass window.
