I was dating a girl who works for one of my dad's businesses. We had great chemistry but I got too serious too soon and after 2 months she broke up with me on Valentines day. She was also going to start uni in a few weeks time and said she wouldn't have time for a relationship and wouldn't have time to see me unless we went to uni together. There was a time when she really wanted me to be her boyfriend and it was a long time since she had one. I remember the last night we spent together she said she was unhappy. I now recall on that night I told her I went out the night before and she knew that I like to go out and socialise with girls, but I didn't realise at the time how it could have hurt her. This probably freaked her out about getting any closer to me. I was starting to fall for her. Anyway, around 1 and a half months later I'm trying to get over her and this bar my bro owns is having an anniversary. As I am saying goodbye to 2 girls I met, she arrives with her housemates brother (which may or may not be true, who is visiting from overseas for the week) and her housemate who was staying at their house. She sees me kiss these girls goodbye. Then I say hi to her and she is quiet and not herself with me. Anyway after a while she starts dancing with her housemates brother. I ask her housemate how close they are, and she says very close and I just leave. I wasn't jealous of the guy, it just hurt me that she did this in front of me. My best bet was that he was a very convenient rebound.

Anyway, I text her 2 weeks later that in spite of what happened, I liked her as a person and she replies that she's going to see her manager (who works in my office) and may see me. I was too busy to notice she was in the office and the next day I text her saying I may stop by and see her at her office. I see her and she avoids me but we managed to exchange greetings. Something was not right. Anyway, in light of her avoidance behaviour, I text her that I still cared about her and that it's best we don't contact each other for the time being. A few days later she shows up to talk to her manager, which works at my office now. I could hear she sounded really sad. She did visit the office on a few occasions but not anymore.

So now I'm trying to get over her and haven't seen or contacted her in months but so many things remind me of her. Some of the staff who work in my office also work in her office, including my brother. I hear her name a couple of times a week. I find it hard to fathom that she's working just a block away from me. I have never told anyone about what she did. Our offices are walking distance to each other. I'm wondering if she's still reminded of me and misses me. She did really like me. What should I do now? Before I met her I was brimming with confidence. Is she taking what I said about us not contacting each other literally?

Wow first of all if you really like this girl you need to apologize to her. They way it seems was that she was only trying to make you feel the same way you made her feel. I would text her and apologize for what you did so long ago and ask if she could forgive you for making her feel that way. She sounds like she may be a fragile girl and she doesn't want to be hurt. But before you apologize you need to ask yourself how much you care about her. Could you help keep her safe and not hurt her? But this is just my opinion.
