    Anxiety Over My Period
My 15th birthday is coming up in 2 days, and I'm planning to celebrate it by going to the waterpark with my friends. My period right now, however, is only finishing up it's third day, and I'm afraid I'll have to wear a tampon for the first time! My friends said that they cried when they first tried their tampons, and now I'm scared! Is there any way for me to speed up my period? I also heard that contact with water (such as showering) stops your period briefly. Does this mean I could get away without wearing anything at the waterpark, or is that only for certain situations? Please help soon!

You can still bleed in the water, but from personal experience not as much. You could get away with wearing one of the smaller size tampons. Don't go right for "Super" your first time using one, it won't work :)

I personally have never heard that contact with water briefly stops your period... For sanitary reasons, you probably should consider using a tampon at the water park if your period is not gone by then. My first experience with a tampon was not painful at all. You could try buying the slim fit tampons which are great for teens and will probably make your 1st tampon experience a little better. If you do decide to do this just relax and do it really slow... it will be fine!
