    Windows Vista or Windows Xp?
Hello, I'm just considering whether to upgrade to windows vista. However I have heard a lot of bad things about this new operating system. I would just like to ask if anyone thinks I should upgrade and if so how do I know whether my computer is good enough for it? Thanks.

In my opinion, wait till at least Service Pack 1 is released so some of the "undocumented features" (BUGS) are worked out, and really I wouldn't upgrade and existing system.
Obviously if you are going to buy a new system then go with Vista, but still wait until SP1.

If you have XP don't upgrade, it's not worth the money. However, don't buy a new computer and let them give you XP make sure it has vista.

Well to be honest it depends on your PC type (made, and model). If You have a hp, hp will help you upgrade. But to be honest, having upgraded to vista 32 bit premium, it is amazing. You can run almost all xp based programs on vista!

First, it depends on YOUR needs so its kind of hard to advise without knowing them.

Second, EVERY version of Windows that Microsoft has released as been accompanied by those who had "a lot of bad things" to say about. On the whole Vista has gotten some very good reviews. It's the most tested and stables first release yet. That doesn't mean it doesn't have problems, just that they aren't as bad.

So I would not hesitate to upgrade if there are features of Vista that you want or need. But if XP is doing fine for you, then wait.

Depending on your system and your needs, I recommend you using XP SP2 or XP SP2 64 bit.

I think that Vista is a good OS but the fact that it's still new there are bound to be security flaws that hackers can use to steal your personal information.

I would say give another 6 - 7 months before you consider installing it...

I have heard a lot of negatives about XP 64 bit. I've also heard that Vista 64 bit is not quite ready for prime time yet either. Almost all PCs shipped with Vista have a 32 bit version installed.
