How do I fade semi-permanent colour
    Help

I recently coloured my mid/dark brown hair with loreal casting crème gloss in dark brown which is a semi permanent colour lasting about 28 washes.

I was expecting a nice chocolate brown colour but it when a very very dark brown almost black. :( I did this on Saturday.

I have been washing my hair with head and sholders shampoo and I've been leaving the shampoo in for 10 minutes then using leaving in conditioning treatment for 20 minutes everyday trying to fade the colour down to a dark/medium brown.

But so far it doesn't look much different, I don't want to try stripping because it sounds too harsh I don't know whether to try some highlights.

I've heard about using olive oil or hot oil treatments do these work, I've also heard about mixing baking soda or dish washing liquid to anti-dandruff shampoo, but I'm scared I'll dry my hair out too much

I want to fade the colour as fast as I can because I have a special event coming up on the weekend.

Semi permanent colors will gradually wash out each time you shampoo your hair. But some semi permanent colors can last a long time, depending on your hair type. Try using clarifying shampoos, Prell or dish detergent to help wash away the color. Be sure to use a deep conditioner afterwards to restore moisture in your hair. If the color still doesn't fade, you may need to use a hair color remover designed to remove semi-permanent colors, which you will find at a beauty supply store. Remember that all hair color removers will leave your hair in a brassy state, and you may need to re-color your hair.
