Fan on outside condenser never shuts off
The fan on my outside unit never turns off. It keeps running. Also the unit will not stop cooling until you turn it off. If it is set to off position the heat starts up. Fan still blowing all the while. I installed a new thermostat and the same problems still exist. Everything sounds normal and seems to be working pretty well. I have an all electric system. Heat pump with heat strips on air handler. Outside unit is an Arco-air. Do not know make of furnace. Any advice is appreciated.

Disconnect all the wires you put on the thermost that you replaced. Then turn on the breaker for your furnace and A/C. If it does not start and run you have the thermost wired wrong. If it does start to run get back with us here for further checks.

Looking through the threads, I haven't found anything quite like what I'm experiencing. So if there's already a post out there on this topic, I apologize. I have a dual zone heat pump system, and both units are approximately 14 years old. On a normal summer day (70s to 80s) my air works fine. ...
