I make sure of that because I do not know the area well... I proceed across and get to the island... smack... this chick on a cell phone hits, me and says, did'nt you see me...

    Hello again, Carmen:

Well, I can't tell yet. You need to tell me just a little bit more, like did you have the stop sign or did she?

I knew you did acting... I'm an actor too. I think I saw you in your last movie. What was the name of it...

I did so many, but last movie was I do, I did... But I do a lot of talk shows. Anyway, yes I did have a stop sign. I did stop, then I had to wait because it was a four lane highway going north and south. There was no one on the road when I started driving east to west, when I got to the island, bamb, she its me in the side. She was talking on her cell phone, then she starts yelling at me, Did'nt you see me!!

    Hello again, Carmen:

Bummer. You can't go until the road is clear. It wasn't. She was there.

If your insurance company won't pay, they'll sue you. From what you say, they'll win.

What is the story with your insurance? In your posted question, you state, "but I had paperwork that said I Had Insurance" but in your paragraph, you state, "I did not have coverage at that time."

excon is right, this person can sue you or your insurance. Since it appears you had no insurance, get a lawyer.

If you did not have insurance at the time of the accident, if they do not get the police to file criminal charges of driving without insurance, there will not little criminal court issues.

But if they present this to the court and prove you were at fault ( court says you were) then until you pay them all of the money your drivers license will be suspended ( or revolked) So you will not be able to drive till this is paid.
