    Fairly simple one,

    adult + 2 kids = 6$

    72$ in total / 6$ = 12

    So 12 adults and 24 kids.

    to check:

    12 adults @ 4$ = 48$
    24 kids @ 1$ = 24$

    48$ + 24$ = 72$

    Hi,
    If this is an algebra question, here is the answer:

    x = number of adults
    2x = number of children

    $4(x) + $1(2x) = $72
    4x + 2x = 72
    6x = 72
    x = 12 adults, and,
    2x = 24 children.

    Same answer as the other post, but in algebraic terms.
    Best wishes,
    fredg
