    Itchy red spots
    Hi,

A few days ago I woke up and noticed a few red itchy spots behind my knees and around my panty line - I thought of mosquito bites as I live in Africa but then the following day I had a few more. I checked the bed for bed bugs and didn't find any and then the following day I move to a different location and a different bed and thought all would be back to normal. Instead it got worse and now I have these very itchy red spots all over my tummy, my back, a few on my breasts and shoulders. They are not painful, but very itchy and irritating - they sting a bit when under a hot shower. What could it be?

Maybe eczema, but I'd tend towards shingles-if it is more a "burning" sensation. If it is more itchy then perhaps scabies-especially when it is behind the knees.

    I suggested scabies on another post-please don't think I'm scabies-obsessed (J_9).

Had to spread the love X, but I would never think you are scabies obsessed. LOL

I am wondering if you have ever had chicken pox?

Thanks... today the situation seems much better, I have a few new spots though some of the older ones seem to have kind of "dried" up - almost like small crusts... yes I have had chicken pox

Just to rule out bedbugs, check where the metal bed frame meets the box spring by lifting the box spring out of the frame and another popular spot is the plastic corner bumpers on the box spring. Bend them down and see if there are any bedbugs there. Check my website for more information on bedbugs: Regional Pest Control of Massachusetts
Lets hope it's nothing. Good luck.:D
