    Credit card theft
I recently found out (eleven months after the fact) that someone charged over eight hundred dollars on my Montgomery Wards account! I have been paying without looking at my monthly statements and just noticed that not only was my identity was stolen, but the new purchases are showing up on a new account number too.

It had to have happened at a Post Office box place where we had keys to let ourselves into the office after closing time.

Wards informed me that they will "investigate" but I think that I had better do something to help myself. What should I do?

Notify and call the police, Wards will have to have this on file.

Notify the credit reporting agency of this and put a fraud alert on your file.
And of course I will assume wards has cancelled your card at this point and time so no further usage can be done.
