Can you change the color of a corian sink by painting it. If so does it need to be sanded or what other preparations do I need to do:)

Painting Corian will not give you a suitable work surface. The paint will not stick well and it will not wear well. Replace or live the current color are your other options. Sorry.

Hey ballenger, have to spread the love, but wanted to at least give you back up on this. Bridge, ballenger is correct. Corian is a solid surface product. No matter what prep you do, the paint will just peel right off. There just isn't anything you can do to change the color. As ballenger states, you need to either replace it completely or learn to live with it. Just as an FYI, Corian is one of those products that prospective buyers of a home LOVE to see. It ain't cheap. :)

How ugly is the color? If you have scratches and such you can buff them out, id call a corian company to do it, but as far as handling it works like wood, as far as routing and cutting

Actually glavine, that would be immensely costly to call in a company. It would be more cost effective to completely install a new sink. Bridge can do the repairs to the scratches herself/himself very easily, although I don't think scratches is what the concern is at the moment. Dupont sells kits to get out scratches but there are products available at most stores that you can purchase separately to remove the scratches. Care of Corian is listed on this link: Countertop Care

Regarding chips in Corian, very problematic. You need to cut out the portion that is damaged beyond mere scratches. In that instance, you are right in that it is cut like wood.
