    Former tenants left pet disaster!
I recently moved into an apartment complex with my new fiancée expecting a new beginning. The previous tenants had a dog which was kept inside at all times. I found this out because I did some snooping around the other apartments and asked them what the people were like. They said there was a dog but they never saw it and they would leave for days at a time and leave the dog inside. My landlord lady and the carpet admitted they had to use masks to clean the place it was so bad. My question is why was the carpet not removed and what can I do to get them to listen to me? It is so disgusting and the smell is unbearable. Also I have a kitty and he was deathly sick the first week we were in here and begged at the door to be let out! I think the previous tenants should be held accountable for their damage but the also the apartments landlord should have had the carpet removed due to bacteria and fecal matter throughout the apartment. What are my options? Can I demand the carpet to be removed? Thank you!
