What brand stop leak are you using, what is its name? Is your skimmer basket plastic, steel or concrete?

You got a few too many letters in the name Marlig. This is the stuff you add to your pool water and circulate throughout the entire pool. It works by why bother? Drain the pool low enough to keep the basket dry. Use any good silicon glue or caulk. Goop makes a under water sealer too. Much cheaper than Marlig.

In that case Marlig does claim to be able to plug up to 1/4" holes.
