According to the
NY Post, Bloomberg has announced his intent to become an INDEPENDENT, not a Democrat. So Agar's theory wouldn't seem to hold true anymore.
However, this would seem to be a strong indicator that he does intend to put his hat in the race for President. Which might be interesting: we could potentially see a 3-way all NY race for the Presidency with Hillary as the Democratic nominee, Rudy as the Republican nominee and Bloomy as an independent.
I personally think that Bloomy is an opportunist. I voted for him because I thought he would run NY like a businessman runs a company. I was wrong. A businessman wants the highest level of productivity and income. Bloomy runs NY City like a nanny state, with his trans-fat ban, his smoking ban, and now his congestion pricing idiocy. These acts have led to decreased business activity in New York, and thus lower income.
And his constant switching of parties based on opportunism is just dusgusting. He was a Democrat in name only, a Republican in name only and now an independent in name only. He was a Dem in name only because he had no party loyalty and when he saw an opportunity to run for office he jumped parties. He was a Republican in name only because he's a nanny-state liberal, not a conservative. And he's now an Indy in name only because he's still a nanny-state liberal who sides with the Dems on most issues.
I wouldn't vote for him again in a million years.
