    Hookworm eggs in stool
Hello! I took my 11 week puppy to the vet last week for his 3rd set of shots. I had to take a stool sample and they said that he had hookworm eggs in his stool. They gave him a third wormer and told me that hook worms could eventually kill a puppy if not taken care of, but I don't have to bring him back for an ENTIRE MONTH to have another stool sample. Is this something to worry about? After losing his brother I am a bit more concerned with even the smallest things with his health. I haven't noticed any worms ever in his stool, but the vet said that what they saw are microscopic. My second concern is that the vet said that the worm eggs can get into the grass and not to walk in the grass bare foot because I can get the worms, is this a problem if the dog has had a couple of accidents in the house? Thanks!

I found this at American Kennel Club - akc.org,
Zoonosis: Toxocaral larva migrans It didn't discuss indoor clean up. I poked around at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention too. I am sure there is good information there if you dig long enough. I prefer to search starting at what I know are reliable sites. So much of what there is on the net about dogs is completely unreliable. Water with bleach in it should clean up hard surfaces, but I am not sure I would treat carpet with it.

Clean the area in your house with odaban.the hooks have laid their eggs, which takes several treatments to kill a large infestation.he puppy should be fine, but take him back for a final fecal check to make sure he's clear.
