Cat acting strangely
My 1 year old female cat who I think might be pregnant has been acting strangely today. She follows me around constantly and has been meowing with a low grunt like meow like she's hungry but when I feed her she doesn't eat. She also has been trying to take me to place under or behind the couch and a closet in my bedroom. She also hissed and took a swipe at my dog for the first time. She is right now rubbing up against my ankles. What gives??

My cat acted like that when she was in heat. Is it possible for her to be in heat?

That is exactly how my cat acted when she was in heat. I think it is a strong possibility. After I got her spayed she was fine. A little groggy (LOL) but once she recovered from the surgery that behavior subsided. :)

She will be like that either until you get her spayed or until she is done being in heat, whichever comes first :)

She will come in and out of heat until you get her spayed. As often as every 7 days maybe more depends on the cat,They usually get louder with each heat cycle. Sometimes they will start to pee in other place beside the litter box. I am told because they get tender and the litter hurts them if they get to close and also they will spray. It is better health wise, and the world is full of unwanted cats and kittens that are put to death each year. Good Luck with your new friend

I don't think she is pregnant. My cat would look for somewhere to go so she could rub her butt up against something. The part where he says she is rubbing sort of indicates to me that she is trying to "relieve" herself of what she's feeling. The rubbing feels good to cats when they're in heat.

Why in the world haven't you had those cats spayed? Especially the one that is cycling so frequently??

Well the cat had 3 kittens last night a few hours after I had originally asked the question. Funny I never knew she was in heat to began with! After this she gets spayed!
