    Transvaginal Ultrasound----i don't understand :(
    Hi everybody.
I would like to thank you all in advance for helping me with my problem.
    I had trans.vag. Ultrasound 3 weeks ago.
Technician didn't detect pregnancy but she said that she saw
Thick mucus and that uterus lining was thick.
I don't know what that means.
Can someone tell me what does this mean?

Did they not explain the possibilities for why it looked like that? Did you get a positive test result and that is why you had the ultrasound, or did you have signs of pregnancy, but a negative result, or what is the history there. Unfortunately I don't think anyone here can really help with this question. You should talk to your doctor about the results and find your answers there. We don't know your medical history etc, so I'm afraid we really can't help much.

Typically this is what your body does to prepare for a pregnancy. If there is no pregnancy this thick lining is shed/reabsorbed and you have your menstral cycle. If it does not shed/reabsorb, then fertilization occurred. It also could be a sign of menopause, Adenomyosis and or cancer depending on your age and other factors. Did they say anything to you about coming back in a few weeks or having a biopsy? It is really hard to say without knowing more, did you ask your doctor?

Hey everybody thanks for quick answers.
I did hpt and it was negative, but still missing my period.
Doctor send me for trans.vag. Ultrasound. What was said by a tech.
Was the only info. I was given. I have a month to wait for my doctor's appointment.
    I'm 26, I have 1 child, and hopefully pregnant :)

Well thick lining is a positive sign. May I ask how late you are on your period. It is possible you have not built up enough hormone to register on the HPT. I am surprised they did not give you a blood test before going to the ultrasound, unless you are very late of course..

If you don't get your period you could be pregnant they did a vag ultra sound on me BEFORE they knew I was pregnant and the tech told me the same thing that the lining was very thick she sid it was one of two things I was in the early stages of pregnancy or I was about to start my period about 30 min later after the vag ultra sound they found out I was pregnant by a very very faint positive line.
    I hope this helps

My period is 3 months late. (last one was in March). I have PCOS so that could be one of the reasons my period is so late. All of my tests came back negative, and I demanded more to know what's happening, and I ended up with a very unclear ultrasound. This was 3 weeks ago, and I did another pregnant. Test just few minutes. Ago and it was negative.
It's either I'm going to start my period soon or I'm pregnant.
    I'm confused. I wish I am :) hmmmmm... I don't know...

Can this be happening because I might have ovulated later than 'normal' (for me), or the conception happened not long ago, and it's still hard to detect with hpt?

With my 1st pregnancy, it was detected ONLY by an ultrasound and by then I was 8 weeks pregnant. All tests before that were negative. I only had sore boobs.

Right now I only have a lot of discomfort in my left ovary, little numbness when I bend, or change a sudden position, and no other signs what so ever.

Anyone... chit chat with me on this?

    Thank you ladies

It is really hard to say. PCOS makes things much more difficult. I have heard of tests not registering for a long time, but 3 months is a very long time. I would think though, that at 3 months, you would have seen something in your ultrasound. Unless of course it just happened, but that wouldn't explain not having a period before. Im afraid PCOS is out of my realm of knowledge, IM just not that educated in it. Sorry.

It could definitely be because your hcg levels just aren't built up enough yet. Did they do a quantative blood test with your first pregnancy? This type of blood test will measure the exact amount of hcg in your system, and will be repeated within a few days to see if the numbers are doubling as they should in a healthy pregnancy. Its quite possible that you are pregnant and just not registering, as this happened with your first child as well. Good luck to you hun, I hope that you have gotten your pregnancy wish, and all is well. Please let us know when you find out.

Yeah I know it is weird, very very... hmmm *thinking*
If the pregnancy was 'older' it SHOULD have been noaticed with an ultrasound.
What if it happened just after the ultrasound (in case that my utero was preparing for it)?
God knows, me and my husband are trying, but me with PCOS , very hard!

I started thinking about this today (more) even after my hpt was negative!
    Ohhhh

I agree with alka three months is a long time to not have a period and if they did the ultrasound three weeks ago it could have been in the very stages of pregnancy,
But after three weeks you should at least get a positive on a HPT

They didn't do serum HCG but they probably will now that this is happening.
I'm going to see my doctor next month (that's when he's going to tell me more about the ultrasound results) and if I don't get my period probably do serum HCG or
Give me something to start my period, this is very long time.

With my 1st child I got pregnant without having a period (my last period was in October, and I got pregnant in December) so, I would like to be the first one to say to all of the girls who are wondering if this is possible that IT VERY MUCH SO IS (especially with women who deal with PCOS).
EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE, and if you don't have your period, doesn't mean that you're not ovulating and maybe are pregnant already.
So... I'm just thinking, maybe this time around it's another 'gift' from God :)

Only if it was at least 5 weeks along... any sooner and it may not have been picked up...

Not nescisarily(in reference to getting a positive hpt result by three weeks). There have been women that don't get positives on their hpts until they are many months pregnant, and I have even known of some that never did get a positive.

You ladies are keeping a smile on my face even though the hpt that I did just few minutes ago was negative.
Either way, I'm happy you ladies are here with me today.
I never got my + results with my first pregnancy as well... don't know why.
Can you imagine being pregnant 8 weeks and not knowing what's happening?
I didn't know what was happening, I only knew my boobs were sore for some reason.
I had a healthy pregnancy, healthy baby.
Maybe this one is playing tricks on me again :)
    OHHH I WISH!

This is hard. I want to be pregnant, but I am so very scared that I indeed am not!
