Interaction between phenterfein and other meds?
Hi there... I am needing some advice... I am just about to start on my phenterfein but I am currently on other medication and would like to know if there are any interactions with my other meds and if it is safe for me to take phen on them or whether I should stop any of my other meds first?. The meds I am on are as follows... :- amatriptilyne 100mg at night... Proprananol 80mg at night... Diazepam 20-30mg daily... Temazepam 15-30mg at night... I hope someone can help me... Thank you...

Shazzy, you doctor is the only one who can advise you on this med problem. Were all meds presribed by one doctor and from one pharmacy?

Phenterfein is a diet pil and seems a lot like phen-phen, or may be the same, that was taken off the market because it caused heart attacks and was sometimes fatal. Judging from other meds you are taking, I would consult with your doctor before taking any hard core diet pill.

Phen is a dangerous drug. I can tell you that from very honest experience. I was taking Phen, via prescription. This was before the heart conditions were known to be a result of the drug. I did lose weight, yes. But I did not do well as far as my liver or my cholesterol were concerned.

Tell your doctor you bought this drug privately. If you do not believe anyone here about the dangerous complications you can get into, maybe you would believe your doctor. Do not mix Phen with your other medicines. Do not.

    Hello Shazzy ,
Whoa , don't start the Phenterfein yet ! You are flirting with disaster with this addition . Don't stop taking the other drugs you listed as they all need to be tapered down and never just stopped !
I tried the internet looking for compatibility of your meds but I just can't seem to make the websites work . You don't list diuretics or thyroid meds which are your safest bets for weight loss .
You are much too medically complex to get this advice / answers from an answer board . Possibly your MD knows more of your history , background than you list .
    Be safe... Russell

    Hi shazzygal ,
I was just doing some reading and read that Phenterfein should not be taken with Elavil / Amytriptaline . Also mentioned were blood pressure and asthma meds . No I can't send a link because I don't know how .
    Good day... Russell
