    Non paying roommate
    I lease an apartment in Georgia, the first month my roommate[not on the lease] paid rent, now he won't pay rent or utilities. Our verbal agreement was to split everything in half. I can not afford to pay it all. I made a terrible mistake. I want to look for another roommate.
    What can I do. Can I give him notice to move.

    You always must have everything in writing, it is the only safe way. You will have to ask him to leave.

    Hello my:

    Give him a 30 day written notice to vacate. Send it certified, return receipt requested. Hand him a copy too.
