    Functions again.
    I know now how to solve for f(x), but I am really confused when you have f(g(x). For example, I answered the first part, but am unsure of where to go for the next one. The problem reads like this,

    f(x)=2x-3 and g(x)=x+1

    now where I am confused is when the problem asks for something like this,
    f(g(4) I know, or at least I think I know that you plug the four in where the x is, but how do I set it up to make it look right. I guess what is confusing me is the g. :confused:

    OK sub 4 into g(x) and you get = g(4)

    then sub that answer into f(x) where g(4)=x understand ?

    (with numbers)

    let x=4

    g(x)=4+1=5

    sub into f(x)

    f(g(4))=(2*5)-3=7

    Melzy, if you don't understand, don't repost the question, instead you can reply in the same thread and ask for clarification :)
