Spasm
I know of a young guy, 16, and every now and then (daily) he gets this body spasms. Like nerve twitching, can't really explain it. I get it sometimes when I'm close to falling asleep.
Why is that?
Is it serious?

Yeah, my buttocks do that sometimes (seriously!) It's never bothered me that much, but I too would like to know what it could be!
(Mines a very good excuse to get my girlfriend to touch my bum though, so I don't want to get rid of it! Lol!)

If it's before you go to sleep it might be linked to your brain trying to shut off your body. This happens when you go to sleep so you don't move when you dream. But sometimes it can go wrong and you can jerk/twitch(myoclonic jerk) or feel like you are falling . It could be that though if it is a spasm I'd say it could be just one of those random spasms - I get them when I'm stressed especially in my eyelids but also my thighs. I've been told (by a med student) that it's nothing to worry about. I know loads of people who get them so I don't think it's anything to worry about.

You want to know if it is normal for you or him?
Well, for him it is a possibility that he may have a form of Tourette's Syndrome, and for you it would be just muscles relaxing at the end of the day.

Isn't tourette syndrome where you shout out words?
Or am I wrong?
Coz he doesn't do that! He just has sudden body spasms everynow and then.
No for me I know its normal I know of many people who have it before they sleep.
He does throughout the day...

It is common to shout out words with Tourette's, but not all people with Tourette's have verbal symptoms. Many have what are called "tics" in that they are like little muscle twitches. This is actually much more common than the verybal symptoms.

There is no cure currently, it actually get's better with age rather than worse, and there are medications to help ease the symptoms. As for serious, if you mean that it will deteriorate physical health, no. The Tourette's that has only the physical "tics" many people just refer to as nervous tics.
