I don't have a direct answer to your question. But, I did find a site that has one heck of a lot of information on it about dieting, weight, calories, etc. Perhaps you will find some helpful information there.

I don't know what your reading, but it's always been if you want to lose weight you need to cause a caloric reduction by reducing your calories below your normal intake. If your eating more calories than your expending you won't lose weight no matter what foods you eat, even good food will get stored as fat. Always eat a natural low fat, low sugar, low sodium, low calorie food with smaller servings. Lean how to stick with what One serving size really is, 3 oz of meat is one serving size. Eat whole grains, breads, cereals ( 1 cup is a serving size), pasta, rice, instead of white flour products, Lots of fruits, veggies, lean means, skinless chicken or turkey breast, fish, loin type meats. Baked or broiled, not fried, stay away from soda, fast foods, chips, cakes, candy, cookies, Low fat dairy and cheese. And drinks lots of water throughout the day. Try and keep fats and oils down to 2 tbsp a day. And you need to exercise a minimum of 3 times a week 30 minutes, even if it's just walking, biking, swimming, but move your body!
