Hello everyone... I just had a vaginal ultrasound today and the us tech told me that I was 5wks 3days pregnant today. She also told me that it was too early to see the baby but did tell me that there are two sacs... and wouldn't tell me anything else. My question is... am I having twins? Or is it to early to tell?

If you have two sacs I would venture to say that you are having twins and they will be fraternal not identical!! Myth has twins, hopefully she will come back on after she feeds her herd and let you know how she found out.

[Myth]

I found out at 12 weeks that I was preggy with my twins... the dr looked at me and said your measuring a little big and we're going to give you an u/s. The reason the tech didn't say anymore is because about 50% of pregnancy's are a twin conception but one will vanish. Look up vanishing twin syndrome. It explains it better than I can... 12 weeks is also the start of the second trimester and your chances of miscarrige drop a lot. That might also be why the tech didn't say more... I can tentitively say you have twins on the way... just so you know they aren't as hard as people think... then again mine are only nine months... J is right though they will be fraternal not identical... that means you could have a boy and a girl... I think that's the best way to go... Its easier to think of them as individuals... and you can tell them apart easier dress one in blue and one in pink and everyone will be able to tell them apart... even people that can't see anything but blobs... lol

I agree with Myth, I am a good example, with my oldest daughter, doc did u/s because I was measuring big for 7 weeks. There was two sacs at the time. When I went back in at 20 weeks for routine u/s. there was only one. So doc explained about the vanishing twin. Sucks cause I wanted both but I'm happy that I have my daughter. (now 8) .
