I don't know if any of you have ever heard the parody song "big butter Jesus" before or maybe if you have driven through Ohio, may have actually seen the giant Jesus statue (it looks like it is carved from butter... hence the name of the song)... but My son loves the song, (they play it a lot on my morning radio show and he has it memorized.) well anyway... one day while sitting in church and listening to father preach, Connor heard him say Jesus a few times in the same sentence... Connor immediately perked up and said "Jesus? he said Jesus!......"big Butter Jesus... " and then proceeds to sing it... this was very loud might I ad... I was so embarrassed...

    Picture of "big butter Jesus"

Song about "big butter jesus".. by Heywood Banks... (this is in no way meant to offend anyone)
In southern Ohio, just north of Cincinnati
I beheld a vision, next to the expressway.
Was a 60 foot jesus, with his hands in the air
Looks like he's carved out of butter,
Just like at the state fair.

    Big butter Jesus
    Sweet cream Jesus
    Oh country fresh Jesus
    Unsalted Jesus
    Oh Promise Jesus
    Imperial Jesus
    Can't believe it's not Jesus
    Oleo Lord.

Well you see him from the chest up
Like he's about to do a back flip,
    Like he scored a touchdown
Or maybe melting or about to drown.
Well I've been to the state fair
Seen a cow made of corn cobs
Garth Brooks made of string cheese
And the virgin out of olives.

    Big butter Jesus
    Sweet cream Jesus
    Oh country fresh Jesus
    Unsalted Jesus
    Oh Promise Jesus
    Imperial Jesus
    Can't believe it's not Jesus
    Oleo Lord.

Shipped in pieces on a flatbed
Staring backwards was his big head
    Driver stuck in traffic backups
    Desperately avoiding eye contact
Well don't make no graven images.
That's one of the 10 commandments
I hope the grading curve is kindly
You get to heaven with a 90

    Big butter Jesus
    Sweet cream Jesus
    Oh country fresh Jesus
    Unsalted Jesus
    Oh Promise Jesus
    Imperial Jesus
    Can't believe it's not Jesus
    Oleo Lord.

    Can't believe it's not Jesus,
    Oh spread the word.

My husband and I have these little books full of what we call "connor-isms" we have a million... little funny things he says and doesn't even realize it...

Even with the trailers and fake flowers? LOL I have seen beautiful pic's of Kentucky. I like it too. Oregon is wonderful and constantly green, in any direction you can have a wonderful adventure. I love the ocean but we often go the river direction! Off to the oven now, I promised home made cinnamon rolls for after school snacks!

I call it beating around the bush. Well, my husband does actually, I have to give him credit for that... Don't tell him that I did though. I agree with you, there is a point where someone is wrong and if thye chose not to admit it and make excuses instead, then that will have to be their problem, not mine! We can still be nice while being straight forward for the most part...

I appologise to everybody, I erased my post. That is why it looks like start did a double posting but did not.

I just want to say that the truth hurts sometimes. There is a right and wrong and many people come here looking for people to sugar coat everything and make them feel warm and fuzzy about there decisions. I do not do that. Depends all on the situation as well.

Here is a link to somebody who actually asked if there is anything they can do to cause a miscarriage.

I don't try to sugarcoat anything, though my view and yours are opposite much of the time, Joe.

I just try to put myself in the shoes of the person posting. All of us have sin, all of us have made mistakes, and all of us can learn even now from mistakes. No one is blameless in this life--we all do things that hurt others at least sometimes. If that poster is as young as I think she is, well... maybe she didn't have anyone to teach her right from wrong. Can't we help do that without judging? YES, it's stupid to have sex if you don't want to get pregnant, but I know even married people that get pregnant when they don't want/expect to. Ask me about my sister sometime--she has 5 kids, ages 10, 7, 5, 4, and 2. You can bet she didn't PLAN those last 3, especially the timing on them.

I, on the other hand, have not been on birth control in about 10 years. Was I married to my husband then? Nope. Did we necessarily WANT children then? I don't know. I think it would have been hard on us, but a child would have been a happy thing for us even then, years before we were married. Would I just about die to have her kids? Absolutely. And Mr. Synn and I are listed as getting guardianship in her will, should something happen to her and her husband.

What I'm saying is... circumstances are different for everyone. She's wrong to think the way she does, but rather than yelling at her, which is what she's probably getting from every OTHER adult around her, I'd rather point out that I understand, and why I understand, and let her know that it's still wrong, and look! Here are some other options!

I'm in a meloncholy mood, and I'm not attacking anyone, especially not you, Joe. I'm just kind of sad and frustrated about a lot of things right now, and I think it's showing in my posts.

Synnen, that is a great way to talk to the posters that obviously need help, especially if you make it know clearly that they are not making good choices. And yes, we all are "sinners" so to speak. We all do things wrong and hurt people. I would rather know I hurt someone than have someone make it OK. Hugs to you and yes, you are definitely showing compassion in your posts!
