Can't answer questions about the car specifically but I can about insurance. Here goes, and let me give you an example of why more info is needed:
Say you are the driver/owner, are 18 yr old male, single, with 3 speeding tickets, one DUI and live in KY as opposed to be 40 male, married, with no violation or accients in the last 3 years an no DUI's ever.
Which auto policy for the same coverages and the same vehicle will be more expensive?
Answer is the policy for the 18 yr old. So you have to call an insurance agent, ask for a quote, he / she will ask you questions to give you a rate.
Beware, the actual value of most any 96 vehicle may not be worth the cost for comprehensive/ collison insurnce on the vehicle considering the deductible that is subtracted from any claim for damages, fire, flood losses. Most companies will not even entertain giving you a price for comp/coll for this age vehicle.
You can (and most states) must purchase liablity insurance to help protect others members of society and you can puchase more than likely other misc coverages but probably not comp and coll.
