I have "2" due dates. HOW
My last period was October 9, 2006 which would make my due date July 16, 2007, but when I had got an ultrasound on May 18 it said that my due date June 30, 2007. The ultrasound said my baby wighted 4 pounds and 11 ounces. I was suppose to start my externship for school on Monday the 4th of June but I don't know if I should wait until after I have my baby to do my extern or not. I don't understand how I could have "two" due dates.

Quite easily they did the same to me I knew full well I hadn't bled from a certain date but just because baby wasn't measuring correctly to my dates they moved it back I wouldn't worry too much she will be born when she dam well pleases not when they say she will. Good luck xx

Same thing happened to me. My original due date was September 30th and they changed it to the end of October about half way through. They did this even with the ultrasound showing me further along than I was. They kept telling me that my baby was almost 10 lbs!! I wanted to scream! LOL ANyway, she was induced October 28th and was way overdue! She had pooped in her water and we had to have a pediatrician come in to keep her fom breathing till they cleaned out her lungs, etc... The doctor said that some women are just pregnant longer than others, which is weird! Good luck and if you feel like you are far enough along I'd say something to your doctor. I wish I had stood up to mine! :)

I have to agree with the others. My first child, my daughter, I had three different due dates. One early Sept, one early Oct. and one mid Oct. When she was born Oct. 10th, the doctor figured that I had been already three weeks overdue. Lots of problems, for her and for me. But I was young and afraid and did not know how to stand up for myself. Did not know there was such a thing as a "second opinion".

I truly hope you have a very safe delivery and a very healthy baby.

I understand putting off the externship. Please talk to the person in charge of that where you will be doing the work. Most are very understanding. Good luck to you.

The very first due date you receive when you learn you are pregnant is actually based on your first day of your last menstral period (LMP) You could have gotten pregnant at anytime during that month after the period, or even beforehand (if your period was abnormal). That is 4 weeks (or possibly 6) of leaveway. As your baby grows they will typically do 1-2 ultrasounds to help datethe baby in addition to blood work. My doctor gives 2 ultrasounds. One at 10-12 weeks and another at 18-20 weeks. They measure the baby and look at the organs and that will tell them more accurately how old the baby is... which will change the due date. Very few women will have conceived the first day of their cycle, so almost all will get a different due date. Depending on the ultrasounds and blood work, it may chane again. I have always gone by the last due date received. So I would go with the July 30 date until you are told differently. Good luck and congrats!
