    Clomid Questions
    Hi there

I have a quick and probably relatively easy question to answer.

I have been prescribed Clomid by my doctor, and will be starting my first ever dose on Sunday... I will be taking it from Day 5 - 9.

I have also booked in a blood test for day 21.

Is anyone able to answer me the best time to have intercourse? My doctor did tell me the days, but I had so many days listed in my head, I forgot!! And I guess this is the most important part LOL.

Which period is the correct period for ovulation?

    Thanks SO MUCH in advance!!

Since you haven't told us how long your average cycle is, your best bet is to start on day 9 and then have intercourse every other day until at least day 21. I know it's a hardship but try anyway. :)

    Thanks guys!

My cycle is so so irregular. I generally get my period every 2 months or so. My doc is well aware of this.

Oh dear, as much as its great - sex for 13 days straight! (days 9 - 21)!!

Any other advice you wonderful knowledgeable ladies can offer?

    Cheers

I don't think that you should have sex everyday because the male sperm needs time to build up. It can actually be harder for women to conceive who have sex everyday because the male sperm hasn't built up. You should try to have sex in my opinion every 2-3 days to give the sperm time to build up because it usually takes at least 48 hrs to build up but sometimes later and this should help you to get pregnant easier. Hope this helps and keep us upadated on any success!!

Read my post again. Don't have sex every day. Have it every OTHER day. That's what my fertility doctor told me to do and it worked.

Yes, I agree with having sex every other day. Allows the boys to replenish. I meant to start early, that's all.

Thank you for your help. It's pretty exciting, hopefully it works. Are there any statistics out there on the success rate for first time use? Or is it something that works better each time you try it in a cycle?

    Hi Again

    Well... what can I say!

Just wanted to let you know that we had sex on days 10, 12, 14, 17, and got pooped after that!!

As much as we wanted to do more, work, life etc just all get in the way!!

I note you guys kindly advised me that every other day between days 9 - 21 is the way to go. Well today is day 21, and I had the blood test, so waiting on the results.

Is this the test that tells me whether the 50mg dosage is enough, or if I need more?

Thanks for your help in advance
