    Pelvic/intestinal pain
My OBGYN has dx me with endometriosis ( well we have not hd the laperoscopy yet) but he is pretty sure that is what it is... I started having pain close to my pelvic area/ intestinal area about 1 1/2 months ago... HE did an ultrasound and said it looked good, pelvic exam came back OK and now he thinks it could be endometriosis because I have pain during intercourse and a D&C before and he said looking back at his notes the were some spots there on the side I have pain that resembles it... The pain got better for a few weeks and now its back. It hurts to sit and stand... but once Im in a position Im OK. I feel like the pain is more intestinal than pelvic. I had a Bloody stool today. I am going to my PCP tomorrow I am thinking about asing him to do a colonoscopy so I can see if the pain is really intestinal or pelvic... I figured a colonoscopy (as scary as it sounds) is eaisier to recover from and cheaper then a laperocsopy. Is that a good choice??

A colonoscopy is really not that scary you can see everything as there doing it if you don't have to be sedated I think it's a good choice why not check everything before you pin it on one thing. My doctor has also told me that she's almost positive I have endometriosis I have severe pain the week before the week of and the week after my period I have to take 800mg of IBProfin and a strong birth control pill and sometimes that doesn't phase it so I use a Heating Pad and find a comfy position and try to stay in it till the pain eases up enough to carry on with my daily task, but my doctor also said that having a child should help if I'm able too.

You've got everyhting covered. Go for the scopes and see what's wrong. Sounds like your doc is on his game. Hopefully everything will come out with answers and you'll be on the road to good health.

My doctor has diagnosed me with endometriosis, and because of it I have been on birth control for the past 8 years. It is fairly common for me to have bloody stool every once and awhile. I asked my doctor about it and she told me it is most likely from the endometriosis. According to her endometriosis can affect and grow on just about everything. Many times it does affect your bowel movements, causing constipation or bloody stool. I am not sure why. I have been checked to see what else might cause bloody stool, but my doctor concluded that it is my endometriosis. I also have extremely painful periods and pain during intercourse (which my husband hates). It is something you just have to live with and it sucks. ncgirl_21 is right about how SOMETIMES having a child makes the pain better or go away.
