I think I could be pregnant with the implant in been to the doctors today and he send for a pregnancy test to be done at the hospital and he also want blood test done what are these blood test he ask for to be done confused

They are a more accurate way to test for hormones emitted during pregnancy. They would be able to tell if you are pregnant sooner than a regular HPT.

Blood tests are the most accurate of tests to determine pregnancy, and is taken from a simple drawing of blood from your arm. Sometimes a women's level of hcg in the beginning of pregnancy is not high enough to register on the homes pregnancy tests, and that is where these blood tests come in handy, because they are more sensitive then hpts.There are two kinds of blood tests. One is Qualatative. This is the test that you can order yourself from the hospital. It is more accurate then an hpt, and not much more expensive. However, this test only gives a negative or positive readout, SO if your hcg levels aren't high enough to register, you will still get a negative, even though you MAY be pregnant. Your doctor is most likely ordering the second of blood tests. This is called a Quantative blood test. This test if the most accurate, as it measures the EXACT amount of hcg in your system. If they find that the levels are high enough to point to a possible pregnancy, they will repeat the test a few days later to see if your hormones levels are doubling as they should be in a normal pregnancy.
